This is one of most prized patches! It is one of three that I have from D.C., and (very obviously) is not an authentic patch. I got it on October 21, 1993 from a close co-worker, who had acquired one for her patch collection earlier. After I had "ooo" and "ahhed" over her patch so much, she got me one too! As I understand it, the head of the department was not very pleased with the production of these patches. I can't say I blame him, but it was at a time when the homicide rate in D.C. was seemingly out of control. |
