The Florida Marine Patrol (which is now defunct), used to be a part of the Florida Department of Natural Resources (which is also now defunct). They are part of several agencies that were all rolled into one: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in 1999. See here for more history information (if you believe Wikipedia :) ). I'm also interested in determining if the Marine Patrol was a successor agency to the "Florida Board of Conservation", whose similar-looking patch can be seen here.
I have several colleagues who used to be Marine Patrol officers, but this patch was actually one of quite a few that was found in Tallahassee Regional Operations Center's garage, and given to me.
